I’ve signed up for the Felixstowe Triathlon on 19 July 2026 — the Super Sprint.

300m swim (12 lengths of the leisure centre pool)

20.5km cycle (12.74 miles)

3km run/walk (1.86 miles)

I will be raising funds for G.O.S.H – because what better motivation is there than helping children, oh and helping me lose weight!

The cycling will be fine.

The swimming… manageable, as long as I’m still allowed my traditional “rest after every length.”

The running, however, is the real problem. The last time I ran anywhere was 1986, while being chased through Ipswich by the West Ham ICF. I haven’t forgotten the lesson: running is best avoided.

Still, here we are.
