Team bike ride along South Downs Way 100 miles. · 17 April 2024

VOS runs Drop-In advice and social groups and mental health clinics around Portsmouth and on the IOW. UK Armed Forces and Merchant Navy veterans and their spouses can access social and mental health support from a 'one-stop shop' of welfare charities, wellbeing providers and our own clinical team.

Story

Four submarine veterans from the Gosport Branch of the Submariners Association and three colleagues, who are Associate members of the Branch, will be cycling the South Downs Way 100-mile route from Winchester to Eastbourne on 17th – 19th April 2024. The combined age of the septuagenarian submariners is 311 yrs., and their colleagues is 204 yrs.

This extremely challenging ride is being undertaken to raise money for the Gosport Branch Chairman’s charity Veterans Outreach Support (VOS). VOS offers Welfare, Wellbeing and Clinical provision to UK Armed Forces & Merchant Navy Veterans as well as spouses/partners.

The Septuagenarian team have been in serious training since January completing some challenging hilly rides around the local area including one member who has been completing very challenging rides whilst on holiday in Australia.

The team members are Hector MacCallum (77), Peter Davies (79), John Buffery (78), Ron Gordon (77) (Submarine Veterans) and Ian French (61), Kevin Ayton (65), Peter Mullice (78) (Associate members). Please give them a great incentive to complete this huge challenge by donating generously.
