Story

Vets in the Community is a project set up in 2012 to provide free veterinary care to pets belonging to the homeless and vulnerably housed people of Nottingham. We run weekly clinics in the city centre out of our mobile trailer. These clinics are led by students from the Vet School, under the supervision of experienced, qualified members of staff.

We provide health checks, vaccinations, micro-chipping as well as treatment for fleas, worms and minor ailments. We can refer patients for essential diagnostics and surgeries. We also deliver food, medication, and other items to our clients. While most of our patients are dogs, we also see some cats and even the occasional rabbit, hamster or ferret!

All of this is only made possible by donations and support. Funds are vital to keep our trailer in pristine condition, and to ensure we have full equipment and medical supplies for each clinic as well as pet food, pet toys, leads, collars, bedding water bowls, harnesses and warm animal jackets to offer our clients and patients.

A £5 donation will worm a dog for half a year or provide flea treatment for a month.

A £10 donation will provide pain relief, ear and eye drops and antibiotics.

A £15 donation will allow us to microchip a pet - which is now a legal requirement of dogs in the UK!

We appreciate any and all support - your donations bring us one step closer to providing the best care we can for our beloved clients.
