Story
I’m taking part in this years 10KM Moonlight beach walk on 19th September 2025 in memory of my late husband Steve Bullock.
Thank you to everyone who’s donated so far. 🥹
We wanted to raise £310 in aid of Steve’s 31st birthday, on 21st September and we’ve smashed this target!
Weston Hospicecare do an incredible job, every member of staff plays such an important role, not only in the logistics, but the personal care you and your loved ones receive if you are ever in the position where you rely on their care. It’s personalised, it’s care but more importantly it’s love from those who don’t know you or your story.
Our story:
Back in July 2023 Steve was transferred to Weston Hospicecare after 6 days in Weston General following an Unknown Primary Cancer Diagnosis. In this space he was able to have his own private room, which allowed family and friends to spend valuable time with him. He was cooked pizza (his favourite was meat feast) they came with the lot! They even said he could take his Xbox in to play FIFA but he was too unwell.
I was able to stay with him every night, which was a huge comfort to us both. Sadly, just 5 days after being transferred, Steve passed away, surrounded by loved ones, in a safe space with nurses and doctors providing support throughout.
My time spent there will stay with me forever. Though the memories are not morbid they are of appreciation, thankfulness and I will cherish the privilege that we had, as a family, to have Weston Hospicecare and their staff.
Hospices are under funded and at risk of closure.
Fundraisers, like this, allow other people and their families in need to get the help and support that I too once relied on.
Thank you again for all the donations.
