Weston Hospicecare provides expert end-of-life care, free of charge, to people with life-limiting illnesses. Our goal is people can live as well as they can, for as long as they can; we help them feel like family and friends again, not just patients and carers.

Story

Our most vibrant event of the year is back, and it’s set to be more magical than ever!

On Friday 19 September, join hundreds of Weston Hospicecare supporters for the Moonlight Beach Walk – a stunning evening of colour, light, and remembrance along Weston-super-Mare’s beautiful seafront.

Choose from a 10km or 5km route, both starting and finishing at the iconic Grand Pier. As night falls, we’ll create a glowing sea of support in memory of loved ones, lighting up the coastline with t-shirts, illuminated accessories, and heartfelt tributes.

This family-friendly evening is more than just a walk – it’s a chance to come together, celebrate life, and raise funds for local families facing life-limiting illness.

Why your support matters:

The staff here have been absolutely brilliant, it feels like I don't need to explain anything, everybody just understands and for me it's just a weight of my mind to know there is an outlet for emotional support that the NHS doesn't have the capacity to provide, not just for me but also for my family

It costs £6 million a year to run Weston Hospicecare – and with just 18% funded by the NHS, community support is absolutely vital.

While the participant entry fee covers event costs, it’s your sponsorship that directly helps local families. Just £100 raised could provide Four bereavement support sessions for a child, or Two vital assessments by a doctor for patients in our Inpatient Unit, and so much more. Imagine what we could achieve if every walker raised that much.

Together, we can make a real difference.
