I wanted to set myself a stretch target (this half marathon certainly is that!), and I feel that there's no better motivation than to raise money for such an excellent cause. Ashgate Hospice is such a well-respected resource in my home town, it's an absolute privilege to represent them and help them to continue doing the excellent work they do for local families.

Great North Run 2025's #TeamAshgate is full of wonderful runners this year, all working hard to raise money for Ashgate Hospice.

We provide specialist palliative care for people with life-limiting illnesses across North Derbyshire.

Ashgate hospice also provides support for the families of those we care for, and all our services are available in the community, patients own homes, and in our 21-bed in-patient unit located in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Join 60,000 other people and run the biggest and most iconic half marathon- the Great North Run. Famous for its warm North East welcome, you really will feel the community spirit whilst running the race.
