Story
On 23 September 2026, I'll be taking on one of the biggest challenges of my life... a tandem skydive at Netheravon with the Royal Engineers Sports Skydive Team.
I'll be jumping alongside serving Royal Engineers, and while I’m equal parts excited and terrified, I’m doing it for a much bigger reason: to raise money for The Sapper Charity.
Through my work, I’ve had the privilege of supporting the Royal Engineers Association, and it’s given me a much greater insight into the incredible community that exists around the Royal Engineers, past and present.
Like so many families, my own family has its own connections to serving and supporting our country during wartime. So, the idea of recognising those who have served, and the families around them, means something to me.
The Sapper Charity provides lifelong support to serving Royal Engineers, veterans and their families, helping people through times of crisis, recovery, ill health, financial difficulty and hardship.
Specifically, the money I raise will help the Sapper Charity Children’s Fund, which provides assistance to children of serving and former personnel facing illness, disability, hardship or other challenging circumstances. Every pound raised helps us continue this important work.
So, on 23 September, I’m swapping the safety of my desk for an aeroplane and, for reasons I may well question when the door opens, jumping out of it!
If you can, I’d love you to sponsor me.
Every donation, whatever the size, will help the charity to continue being there for the Royal Engineers family - past, present, and future, when they need it most.
