Story
I'm walking Offa’s Dyke to support Alfoxton's Time To Grow campaign.
Alfoxton Park House is an 18th-century country house that's being revived as a Buddhist retreat centre, arts sanctuary, and home for spiritual ecology.
It's hidden in 52 acres of wild Somerset woodland including a 900 year old oak tree, and once home to William Wordsworth. But it ended as a ruined hotel, it's grounds uncared for and overgrown.
Now this historic site is coming alive again — as a place where poetry, meditation, and nature meet. The community, helped by hundreds of volunteers and supporters, have started carefully transforming Alfoxton Park over the past five years.
Now they have launched their first ever fundraiser to help them take the next beautiful step - building better facilities so they can host more guests to experience the magic of the place.
