Light Project Peterborough has been active since 2009 and their desire is to be a truly city focussed, city change charity. The Garden House is the main hub within Peterborough for those who are homeless or rough sleeping. They have also led City Chaplaincy, Winter Night Shelters, Rest Centres during the Covid 19 ‘Everyone In’ initiative and work with Multi-Agency Community Support Teams to provide the right support for each individual’s need.

During July 2023, 196 different people came to The Garden House needing support and 39 of these were newly presented to Light Project Peterborough as homeless. They also helped 23 people to move off the streets and into their own place.

Volunteer Police cadets will spend the night under the stars rough sleeping to try to understand what it feels like to be homeless. The young cadets will challenge themselves to sleep outside, no tents or beds for just one night.
