Thames Bridges Walk

We are dedicated to life-changing care at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. King’s provides specialist and local health services to over one million people in South-East London and Kent, as well as critical care. Our work makes innovation, as well as world class treatment, possible.

Story

It is nearly 12 months since our dearly loved and much missed colleague Fiona-Jane MacGregor was taken from this world far too soon.

FJ had a long and successful career at the Royal Bank of Scotland culminating in her heading up the Strategic Investment Group and latterly at UK Government Investments as the Chief Operating Officer and later the Head of Special Situations.

In her time at Beechbrook she established a portfolio team which operates seamlessly alongside the other functions of the organisation and is an integral cog to the success of Beechbrook. However her legacy at Beechbrook is so much more than this. She was first and foremost a friend to all of us before being a work colleague. She treated everyone the same, no matter their level and always had time to lend an ear and provide guidance and support to the rest of us. When colleagues were struggling, she was always at the front of the queue to pick them up and dust them down with her familiar soft Scottish lilt. People actively sought her out for her counsel and wise words of wisdom. She had warmth, kindness and humility in spades.

Charity was at the heart of FJ's ethos and with this in mind to honour the memory of FJ, on the 29th September 2023, the Beechbrook team will be undertaking a 20km walk taking in the 16 Thames bridges from Putney Bridge to Tower Bridge.

We will be raising money across four charities that were very dear to FJ. You can access the other fundraising pages below:

1) Young Lives vs Cancer

2) Kings College Hospital Charity

3) Erskine Hospital Renfrewshire

4) Alzheimer's Scotland

The Beechbrook charity fund will be contributing equal amounts to each charity and we would be incredibly grateful for any 3rd party donations, no matter how big or small to add to the overall total for these worthy charities.

Even if you cannot or do not wish to donate, we would welcome anyone who knew FJ to join us on the day and participate in this walk in her memory. Any words of support and encouragement are greatly appreciated and please do raise a glass to celebrate FJ's life on the anniversary of her passing on 18th September.

The Beechbrook team.
