This is by far the hardest journey I've ever had to face in my life. Seeing the person I love suffer so much daily has been tough mentally. When we first found out in May 2025 that Georgie was diagnosed with Uterine Leiomysarcoma I couldn't even pronounce it and I certainly had never heard about it. The lack of information out there, the lack or research and the lack of treatment blow my mind. Imagine being told you have a very rare cancer, we will operate and then you just have to sit and wait and see what happens! This was exactly the pathway, a CT scan three monthly and hope for the best...

Unfortunately in January 2026 Georgie wasn't feeling great, we had to push to be heard and seen and a scan to be pushed forward. March 16 the day our world flipped upside down again but this time we were told it was incurable, the cancer was back and more aggressive this time it had now spread to other parts of her body. The next 2 months were horrendous, 52 days spent in between Maidstone and Royal Marden Hospital London, aggressive Chemotherapy, it was brutal. May 2026 we found out that unfortunately there was no more treatment for Georgie, it was just making her sicker. June 2, I took her home and now it was all about spending as much time as we could together and for Georgie to live as long as she can, as well as she can.

We decided to share Georgie's story to create awareness of this awful disease, to shine a light on Sarcoma and to help other people recognise the signs.

It’s Rare but it’s Real. This is the message to our local community. Walk with Health Hut Nutrition on Sunday, 6 September - it’s more than a fundraising event, it’s a call to action. By participating, you’re joining a community determined to bring sarcoma into the spotlight, advocate for early diagnosis, and push for equitable access to care.

Your participation will not only show your support for her, it will raise awareness of the disease, as well as helping to improve treatment options, research and support for people and their families.

It’s all about bringing friends and families together to raise awareness.
