Georgie’s Lasting Legacy

Her story continues. Her legacy lives on.

In May 2025, our lives changed forever when my beautiful wife, Georgie, was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer called uterine leiomyosarcoma, a subtype of sarcoma.

Following major surgery, we hoped we could begin putting cancer behind us. Sadly, in March 2026, we received the devastating news that Georgie’s cancer had returned and spread.

What followed was an incredibly difficult journey, but throughout it all, Georgie faced every challenge with extraordinary courage, dignity, strength and, of course, her wonderful sense of humour.

When Georgie learned that her time with us was limited, she made a conscious decision to focus on living as well as she possibly could, making the most of every moment and continuing to make a difference in the lives of others.

Raising awareness of sarcoma became incredibly important to her. She knew that although she couldn’t change her own diagnosis, she could use her experience and her voice to help others. She wanted more people to know about this rare cancer, to understand its impact and, ultimately, to help create a better future for those who would face a similar diagnosis.

And that’s where Rare But Real began.

Together with our incredible Health Hut Nutrition community, friends, family and supporters, we helped organise with Sarcoma UK the first Rare But Real Walk in Mote Park, Maidstone in September 2026. Over 500 people came together, walking to raise awareness, show their support and help bring sarcoma into the spotlight. It was a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose.

Sadly, on 17 September 2026, Georgie passed away, aged just 50.

Although our time together was far too short, the impact Georgie made on the lives of others was enormous. Georgie believed in living life with purpose, helping others and making a difference wherever she could.

And that is exactly what I intend to continue doing in her name.

Why Georgie’s Lasting Legacy Matters

Sarcoma is a rare cancer that can develop in the body’s bones and soft tissues. There are more than 100 different subtypes, and many people have never heard of it until it touches their lives.

Greater awareness, earlier recognition, more research and better treatment options are desperately needed.

Through Georgie’s Lasting Legacy, we will continue to share her story, raise awareness, bring communities together and raise vital funds for Sarcoma UK.

This isn’t about one walk, one event or one fundraising target.

It’s about creating a lasting legacy that continues to make a difference for years to come.

Every donation, every conversation and every person who learns about sarcoma brings us one step closer to helping those who will face this disease in the future.

Georgie may no longer be here physically, but her courage, her spirit and her determination to make a difference will continue to inspire everything we do.

It’s Rare. But It’s Real.

And together, we can make sure more people know about it.
