Story

Most cancer charities ask you to walk. We’re asking you to be seen to raise awareness of Sarcoma in support of Georgie.

It’s Rare but it’s Real. This is the message to our local community. Walk with Health Hut Nutrition on Sunday, 6 September - it’s more than a fundraising event, it’s a call to action. By participating, you’re joining a community determined to bring sarcoma into the spotlight, advocate for early diagnosis, and push for equitable access to care.

Many of you know that Georgie was diagnosed with a rare form of Cancer in 2025 (Leiomyosarcoma, a subtype of sarcoma). Your participation will not only show your support for her, it will raise awareness of the disease, as well as helping to improve treatment options, research and support for people and their families.

Whether you’ve lived with sarcoma, supported someone who has, or are just beginning to learn about it, you’ll know this much is true: sarcoma is rare, but its impact is very real. Each year, 5,900 people in the UK are diagnosed – yet awareness, recognition, and treatment options still lag far behind where they need to be.

It’s all about bringing friends and families together to raise awareness.

We’d love for you to join our community and come together to walk 5km or 10km to help more people know about sarcoma.

When you cross that finish line in your Rare but Real Walk T-shirt, we’ll be waiting with your well-deserved medal.

We walk to remember lives lost. We walk to celebrate. We walk for hope and we walk to be seen.
