Story
This summer, my dad and I are walking the Cammino Retico — a breathtaking (and leg-burning!) 170km trek through the Dolomites in Italy — in memory of my incredible Grandma.
This walk isn’t just a challenge. It’s a promise.
Before she passed, my grandma made one last request to me: that Dad and I take on this walk and raise money for Oxfam, the charity she dedicated so much of her life to. She worked there for 30 years, as Regional Organiser, and even after retiring, she continued to volunteer throughout my whole childhood. Helping others was in her nature — kind, selfless, and quietly unstoppable.
We may not be the most athletic pair (understatement!), but we’re determined to complete this 170km in just 7 days — step by step, blister by blister — to honour her legacy and raise as much as we can for her favourite cause.
We’ll be walking for her memory, for her values, and for a world she believed in — one where everyone gets a fair shot at life, no matter where they’re born.
If you can spare anything to support Oxfam and help us carry on the work she cared so deeply about, we’d be so grateful.
This one’s for you, Grandma Mary.
