26 Mountains 2 Mayo Fundraiser

Wayne Pollock is raising money for Cancer Fund for Children
From 7th-15th June 2025, a team of business leaders will tackle the “26 Mountains 2 Mayo” challenge in aid of Cancer Fund for Children to raise vital funds and awareness for children and young people impacted by cancer across the island of Ireland.

Story

Having run a marathon at the North Pole and completed 7 marathons in 7 days across Ireland to support the Ulster Cancer Foundation, I am once again lacing up my shoes for a challenge that is deeply personal and profoundly meaningful.

Losing my mother to breast cancer at just 21 was an incredibly painful experience—one that shaped my understanding of how vital support is during such difficult times. Now, as a parent myself, the work of Cancer Fund for Children resonates with me more than ever. Their mission to empower, connect, and strengthen children, young people, and their families facing cancer is truly life-changing.

When Roger Johnston shared how this incredible charity provides emotional and psychological support—from counseling and group sessions to therapeutic short breaks at Daisy Lodge in Co. Down —I knew I had to step up. Their soon-to-be second lodge in Cong, Co. Mayo will expand their reach, ensuring that no child in Ireland has to navigate cancer alone.

From June 7th to 15th, 2025, I will join 19 other business leaders from across Ireland (and beyond!) to take on an extraordinary challenge—climbing 26 of the highest mountains and peaks across the island of Ireland in just 9 days. Our collective goal? To raise at least €1 million so that more families can access the vital support they deserve.

This journey is about resilience, hope, and making a tangible difference. I’m honored to be a part of it—and I invite you to join me in supporting this remarkable cause.
