In 2026, I’ll be running the TCS London Marathon for Alzheimer’s Research UK—the UK’s leading dementia research charity—alongside my incredible mum, Michala. Together, we’re supporting their vital mission to find a cure and transform the way dementia is diagnosed, treated, and ultimately prevented.

I’m also running in honour of my grandad, Peter, who has been living with dementia for several years. To those who know him, Peter is nothing short of extraordinary—kind, brilliant, and full of warmth. It’s heart-breaking to see such a cruel disease steal away the years he should have been enjoying with his family and friends. Growing up close to him, and even living with him for a time, I’ve always seen him as the wisest and kindest man I know.

Living alongside Peter has shown us just how devastating dementia can be. It strips away so much, far too quickly, from the people we love most. Running this marathon means more to us than just crossing the finish line—it’s our way of honouring Peter, standing beside everyone affected, and fighting for a future free from this disease.

Dementia is now the leading cause of death in England, and with an ageing population, the number of families impacted is expected to rise sharply in the next 15 years. That’s why supporting research has never been more urgent.

Peter has always been our inspiration, the embodiment of goodness and kindness. If he truly understood what we were doing, I know he would be cheering us on every step of the way.
