Story
We are running the 2026 TCS London Marathon together for Alzheimer’s Research UK, the UK’s leading dementia research charity. Their work is vital—driving breakthroughs to revolutionise the way dementia is treated, diagnosed, and one day prevented altogether.
We are also running for our wonderful Dad and Grandad, Peter, who we sadly lost at the end of 2025, having dementia for several years. To anyone who knew him, Peter was nothing short of remarkable—kind, wise, and endlessly generous.
Dementia is now the leading cause of death in England, and with an ageing population, the number of families affected is expected to rise sharply over the next 15 years. Having lived alongside Peter, we’ve seen first-hand the devastating impact it has—how quickly it takes so much from the people we love most.
For us, running this marathon is more than just a challenge—it’s a way to honour Peter, to stand with everyone touched by dementia, and to support a future where this disease no longer has the power to steal so much.
Peter was an inspiration all our lives—the embodiment of goodness and kindness—and we know that if he could see what we were doing now, he would be our loudest cheerleader.
We would be so grateful for your support. Please consider donating whatever you can to help us reach our target and bring hope to families like ours.
With heartfelt thanks,
Michala & Will
