Story
Every day there are headlines about children’s wellbeing and the urgent need to do something about it. Brainwaves are doing just that, providing research-led resources for schools across the country to make young people better equipped for life’s challenges as well as undertaking research of their own, supported by their partnership with University of Oxford and Swansea University. Their work is bold, ambitious and vital but it desperately needs more funding to continue expanding their work.
Like many people, I’ve had struggles with my mental health at different times in my life. Learning how to manage low moments and support my wellbeing more widely took a long time and a lot of help. Brainwaves is an excellent organisation, the likes of which I wish was around when I was a teenager. The support they give young people now by empowering them to become active participants in their wellbeing is inspiring and I feel privileged to work with them in my role as a teacher in one of their partner schools.
Brainwaves’ work makes a difference; please donate what you can to support this fantastic cause. As a very amateur runner, I will be running a 1/2 marathon to raise money for them on 11th October at the Royal Parks in London. If you can’t donate, I’d definitely welcome a cheer on the day!
Thank you!
