Story
I’m taking part in the trek 26 (26 mile walk) alongside many of my family to raise money for Alzheimer’s UK, a cause incredibly close to our hearts. All of us help care for our grandma who has Alzheimer’s, and we see first hand how this affects us and other families.
We’ve decided to challenge ourselves once again with more family this time to do something meaningful and help make a difference to people’s lives who are affected by the disease.
Alzheimer's Society are working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. They do this by giving help to those living with dementia today and by providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding ground-breaking research.
Every step we take will be for our grandma and all of the other families going through the same struggles.
Any support means the world to us. Thank you for taking the time to read this and supporting us to fund life-changing research and bring hope to those affected by Alzheimer's.
Team story from Eddie Harris: Last year I convinced my brother Sam, my cousin Will and my friend Harry to trek 26 miles through the Peak District, collectively we managed to raise £2397 for the Alzheimer’s Society. This year we have managed to convince my mum, Jenny, my aunt, Emily, two of my other cousins Alex and Josh, and my brother’s girlfriend, Sarah, to trek through north York moors. We all have a very personal connection with dementia, for me and Sam our grandfather has already passed from dementia and mine Sam’s, Will's, Alex's, Josh's, Jenny's and Emily's Grandma/mum is currently living with dementia. Helplessly watching dementia slowly steal our loved ones has been incredibly difficult, praying that your loved one remember your name is a prayer we don’t want any other family to have to utter and motivates us to believe that together in a team 9 strong we can raise at least £5000 for the Alzheimer’s society. The Alzheimer’s society do vital work helping people with dementia and their families cope with such a cruel illness as well as also funding crucial research for a cure and prevention to dementia, it’s this family support and work towards a world without dementia that makes this walk is so important to us. Any donation will be appreciated by us all more than you could imagine as we all work towards a world without dementia.

Thank You for your donation!!
