Story
This May, I’m taking part in Walk for Mind in May to support Mind in Somerset — our local mental health charity. Every mile I walk and every pound I raise helps provide life-changing support to people in our community who are struggling with their mental health. Whether it’s a crisis call, a peer support group, or a moment of connection, your donation helps make it happen. Thank you for supporting me and for helping Mind in Somerset be there for anyone who needs them.
It’s no secret that I’ve struggled with my mental health for many years. In 2024 I almost lost my life to mental illness. Since then it has been a very turbulent journey. Mind have been a great support for me during this time. Providing groups and crisis support. The team at mind are so warm and welcoming, I know I will always be greeted by a friendly face when I arrive. The crisis safe space is very accessible offering phone calls, video calls or face to face support. This has been so useful in my times of need.
I am now giving back to the service that has helped me by walking 50 miles in May. With my sausage dog Maggie of course! I am not a big walker so this is going to be a challenge for me but I’m looking forward to getting out in nature and exploring new places with Maggie.
