Oxfam and its 20 local partner organisations in Gaza have reached more than 1.2 million people with life-saving humanitarian assistance since October 2023. Despite operating in an incredibly complex and challenging environment, their work continues to focus on providing food, clean water, and essential hygiene supplies.

Watching something as brutal as a genocide being conducted, while simultaneously realising our government and media are complicit in its perpetuation, has left me (and many others) spending a lot of time feeling powerless and hopeless.

Learning about the work Oxfam is doing offered me a way to take some small action in support of the people affected. That’s why I’m taking on the 2026 Manchester Marathon as part of Team Oxfam.
