Story
We are a team of friends taking part in the Pedal, Paddle, Peak challenge to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy UK
Emma Hibbs, Zoe Rumgay, Angharad & Tom Symes, Andrew McLeod
and Ric Callau.
In 2024, Emma's son Harry, was diagnosed with Becker Muscular Dystrophy (BMD). Muscular Dystrophy is a group of rare conditions that gradually causes muscles to weaken, affecting mobility and strength, it can also affect the heart and the brain. While we don't yet know the full extent of Harry's journey, his neurology team believe he may be on the milder end of the spectrum. But even a mild form of BMD brings challenges - muscle weakness, stiffness and pain.
That's why we are taking on Pedal, Paddle, Peak - an intense fundraising challenge to support Muscular Dystrophy UK. This charity provides vital research, support, and advocacy for families, working toward better treatments and, ultimately a cure.
On 6th September we aim to cycle 24 miles, canoe 2.5 miles and summit Mount Snowdon, pushing our bodies in honour of all those who face muscle weakness every day. But we can't do it alone.
Every donation, big or small, helps fund ground-breaking research and essential support services for families affected by muscular dystrophy.
Please consider donating to our challenge and sharing our fundraiser. Together, we can make a difference for Harry and so many others.
