I have recently been diagnosed with Lipoedema, after many years of being told I was obese.  I have hated my legs for many years as they have been disproportionally larger than my upper body.  Loosing weight is a battle for me and when i do loose weight, it's all off my upper body with very little change to my legs and upper arms.

I have suffered with tenderness and bruising for many years and have been told that i must knock them without knowing by many GP's.  Since finding out about Lipoedema UK, I have learned that there are many more women like me and some of them have had their diagnosis so late that mobility is an issue. I have learned how to get a diagnosis and the support I need to manage my condition.  

I want to raise more awareness of this debilitating disease that many GP's are not aware of and are mis diagnosing women as obese. I also want to raise money for research so that we can get the treatment we need to manage this life long chronic condition
