Story
Dear everyone
Thank you so much for sponsoring me for this year's London Marathon. What a fantastic achievement: with Gift Aid, you've generously donated more than £1600 to the Anthony Nolan Trust, which means that they can continue their outstanding work saving lives from leukaemia.
I always said that my finish wouldn't be fast and it wouldn't be pretty and hey! I was right on both counts. While I didn't finish with the same sense of style as the fabulous Maasai, I clocked 4hrs 49mins. I'm reasonably content with my time, particularly as miles 18-26 were a bit painful (thanks to my blisters and knees) and a bit soggy (thanks to the hailstones). I don't think I've ever been so keen to see Buckingham Palace as I was on Sunday afternoon.
Now I need to lay off the running for a few weeks to let my legs recover and to consider my next challenge - endurance knitting anyone?
Thanks again for your support; it really did keep me going!
Pamela
