Story
From Philip: Having missed out on the London Marathon this year due to my work commitments (and, in the end, volcano Eyjafjallajoekull would have had a final say!), the next interesting run in the Capital is The Royal Parks Half Marathon in October. It is being run in aid of Help a London Child.
From Anne-Christin: As some of you might know, I have in a moment of weakness agreed that I would be running a half marathon with Mr Miller on the 10th October this year. Details can be found here: http://royalparkshalf.com
Some information about Help a London Child:
Founded in 1975 Help a London Child is 95.8 Capital FM's own charity, providing financial support to grass-root projects working with London’s less advantaged children and young people. Over the last thirty four years the charity has raised in excess of £20,000,000 and awarded that amount to over 10,000 small groups and charities.
Grants aim to directly assist and give opportunities to the Capital's children and young people who:
- - Experience poverty and disadvantage
- - Have/are experiencing abuse, neglect, homelessness, violence or crime
- - Have an illness or disability.
