Story
On the 23rd October, Gail, who had only been my wife for 5 months, passed away after suffering a massive brain haemorrhage while she was out with a friend. Even though, at the time, she was being treated for a recurrance of the breast cancer she had originally been diagnosed with in 2004, her untimely death came as a huge shock to us all. She is very sadly missed by all of us who knew her.
Those who have experienced receiving the dreaded news that a loved one has breast cancer will testify that it is a wretched, confusing and emotional time. Often, you will barely be able to take in what the doctors are telling you, and you are almost certain not to remember it all by the time you get home. You will have so many questions whirling around in your head that you can't think straight. And, to top it all, you will be terrified about what the future holds for both your loved one and yourself.
For me, this is where Breast Cancer Care came in. I found that the information and support that they provided were indispensable for both myself and for Gail. We found answers to all of the questions we asked and this really helped us to prepare for the various treatment regimes ahead. Their website also provided links to other support organisations and put us in touch with others who were going through the same traumatic experience as ourselves.
So.....as a 'thank you' for the assistance that BCC gave to me during that time and as a tribute to Gail, I shall be hurling myself out of an aeroplane at 10,000 feet without a parachute.......well, at least initially; I'm kind of hoping it opens quite soon after ! Yes, I am doing a Tandem Skydive for charity on Saturday 14th June. So, if you find the idea of me being thrown out of a plane whilst strapped to the front of a 6'4' Skydiving instructor as hilarious as, no doubt, Gail would, please dig deep and sponsor me !
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please give generously and sponsor me online.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Breast Cancer Care will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support

Well, I DID IT !
Last Friday (26th September), I finally, successfully, fell out of an aeroplane and, luckily, after 30 seconds of completely exhilarating freefall, the chute opened, and I drifted slowly and gently back down to Terra Firma.
For those who've sponsored me, thanks for your generous support. Hopefully, this page will continue to take donations for another week, so, if you haven't sponsored me yet, or know someone else who'd like to, please let them know.
