Story

Welcome to this fundraising page. Please dig deep and support this very worthwhile project online...

This summer six students from Loughborough University will be travelling to , southern Africa , for four weeks as part of the IDEALS Advanced programme (International Development of Excellence and Leadership through Sport). These students will join others specially selected from The Wallace Group, which is made up of the top six sporting universities in.

The IDEALS Advanced project which is being run in Lusaka , the Zambian capital, will use sport as a developmental tool. It will focus on the positive impact sport can have in communities blighted by poverty, AIDS and unemployment. Sport has helped develop skills such as teamwork and leadership, and at the same time has brought communities together, reducing violence and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

While there the students will teach, organise and run numerous sports workshops alongside Sport In Action and EduSport; two organisations based in Lusaka who work to empower young people using sport and recreation.

Not only is this a unique and life changing experience for us, the students taking part, it is hoped that this will truly have an impact upon thousands of young lives in.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support the group; Loughborough University Development Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

We really hope that you might choose to support the IDEALS in project.

Many thanks for your support!
