Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Pedal for Scotland 2010 took place yesterday, Sunday 12th September 2010, a cycle ride between Glasgow and Edinburgh with some nine thousand participants. Our group of five took part in the Challenge ride of 51 miles along roads, country lanes and paths. Unlike today, the weather was good, warm without being hot, a slight breeze and even some sun - excellent cycling weather. The route took in some fine scenery along the way, avoiding as far as possible large towns. Despite a puncture it was an excellent day.
It is a charity event and I decided to ride for Maggies:
A Maggie's centre is a place where anyone affected by cancer can turn to for help. People can go there if they've been recently diagnosed or have been living with cancer for decades. Our unique centres create calm and uplifting spaces where anyone affected by any type of cancer can go for help. The centres are also open to friends or family members supporting those with cancer.
With one in three people facing a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime, the role Maggie’s plays in the community has never been greater .www.maggiescentres.org
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
A big thank you to those of you who have sponsored me and a small reminder to those that haven't, that if you wish to, you can still do so here on this page. So please dig deep and donate now.
Many thanks,
Peter.
