Story
Between 5th and 12th September, I shall be cycling 360 miles from Biarritz to Narbonne in aid of the Hope Foundation. I am very aware that there are a lot of requests for sponsorship around at the moment but I really hope that you will be able to make a donation, however small, to my fundraising effort for this worthy cause.
The charity was launched in 2002 to raise funds for research into the causes and treatment of cancer in Leicestershire and Rutland. It was founded by the late Allison Wilson CBE who discovered, after she was diagnosed with cancer in 1996, that the development of cancer care in Leicestershire and Rutland was hampered by lack of funding. Allison became aware during her own treatment that patients treated locally did not enjoy the proven advantages of being able to take part in clinical trials which were a feature of treatment in areas where there is strong financial support from cancer research charities.
Since 2002, through the enormous generosity of its supporters the Hope Foundation has been able to appoint two PhD research posts, as well as a number of Fellowships, including the charity’s first Nursing Fellowship. Now we need to keep this fantastic work going.
Thank you in advance for your support.
