Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Last year I visited Cambodia & was shocked by the conditions that some of the people have to endure in terms of housing and healthcare, in a lot of areas it is non-existent. There are still hundreds of people killed or injured each year as a result of unexploded ordnance from various wars in the past. I left that country with the feeling that I had to do something to try and help them. So in a way this challenge found me rather than the other way round.
I have been lucky in my life, I have always had a job, never gone hungry, and always had a roof over my head. I was also lucky enough to be stood on the right beach in Penang when the tsunami struck and to recover from cancer.
The people of Cambodia have to be more than lucky just to survive day to day. They risk life and limb just going into the fields to scratch out a living.
Help is needed for the landmine victims to build and repair houses and by raising money for MAG I know that it will go where it is needed. To be part of this challenge I need to raise £3000 and to do that I need as much sponsorship as possible.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Mines Advisory Group gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
