Story
This is my second consecutive year to take on this challenge. Last year was a turning point. I have finished 36 on the Leaderboard by distance swum. I swam 54.41 miles in total over the period of challenge. It was an amazing experience and I have raised £159 for Aspire, while I improved my swimming techniques and breathing. In addition I have built a good routine to be every day at 6:30am in the pool.
You may know or you may not know, that swimming uses all the muscles in the body, so doesn't matter what stroke you swim you will get a full body workout. Some researches claim that 30 minutes in the pool is worth 45 minutes of the same activity on the land.
Swimming is great for general wellbeing too. Regular swimming alongside healthy eating and balanced lifestyle is one of the best way to stay fit, healthy and maintain positive mental outlook.
This year I am back again and I have other targets. I want to build an even better endurance, muscle strength and cardiovascular fitness and to do even more for Aspire and for people paralysed by a Spinal Cord Injury. My target is £350 this year. By supporting me in this challenge we together will make a big difference for all those with Spinal Cord Injury and ensure they have the opportunity to live an independent and fulfilled life.
