Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
As you can tell from the new photo, I finished the 2008 Flora London Marathon. My targets were a sub-4 hour finish and to raise £2000 in sponsorship for the Arthritis Research Campaign. I finished in 4 hours 22 minutes, so slower than I really wanted but I'm still pleased to have finished. If all my pledges come in, I should make my fund-raising target and I'd like to thank everyone who has made that possible.
If anyone reading this either has arthritis or else knows someone with arthritis, they will have some insight into the pain this condition can cause. My mother once said, "RA doesn't kill you, but it does torture you while you're alive". There are treatments, but they don't help everyone and they tend to treat the symptoms and not the disease itself. Without research this is unlikely to change and research costs money. Please pause to think about the impact of living with chronic pain - you can help people with a whole range of arthritic diseases by sponsoring me to complete the challenge of 26.2 miles.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Arthritis Research Campaign will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thanks for reading this far and please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
