Story
I am unsure of how many of you will have heard of Stepping Stones Nigeria, but some of you may have seen the documentary about it on Channel 4 recently in the 'Dispatches' series.
SSN was set up by Gary Foxcroft. It is a charity to help the children of Nigeria, who are very often abandoned by their families after being branded as "witches". They treat the children horrifically, and if you saw the documentary you will have seen that the way they were treated was heartbreaking and unacceptable. These children are torutured, and some are as young as 4 years old. The charity helps save these children from being abused, and assists them into going to school.
My plan raising money for this charity is to do a sponsored run. Yes, me, a run - and not just any run. This run is from my house in Halsall, to the Liverpool Echo Arena, on Saturday 7th March (I'll be leaving mine about 9am cos I want to get there before midnight haha!) The route I am taking, also, makes it even harder - Halsall, to Formby, to Crosby, to the Echo Arena is approximately 21 miles. Lets hope I even make it to Formby.
Please please pleeeease support me with my run, it is for such a worthy charity. Even the smallest donation would help! My goal is £1000, but if I do not reach it this is not a problem, I simply want to make as much as I can for SSN. But obviously if I make more than my goal, this would be a massive achievement!
Thanks guys! I'll keep you updated! Wish me luck, haha!
