Story
The reason you're on this page is because I'm taking a trip to Paris in July. This won't however be spent meandering around little French markets and frequenting quaint cafes, but rather slogging it out on the back of a bike for 4 days, cycling the 480km (which is about 300 miles) from London to Paris.
I'm doing this to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. I've been working for Macmillan since the start of the year, and I cannot praise the work they do enough. I talk to some of the supporters of Macmillan every day, and frequently hear about the ways in which Macmillan has been there to support family members, carers and people affected by cancer when they have really needed it. If you want to find out more please visit www.macmillan.org.uk
I'm also doing this in memory of my brilliant dad who passed away from the longterm effects of cancer last year. Survivorship (which is basically living with and beyond cancer) is now becoming even more of a significant issue as treatments improve. Macmillan are working towards improving the treatment, information and support available to people who are living beyond cancer, as well as to their families and carers. So as something particularly close to my heart, I wanted to help raise some money towards this.
I've got to raise £1,400 altogether, (and I know it's a busy time of year for sponsoring people), but if you can sponsor me for any money at all, whether it be the price of a pint (£3.50-£5) or a new top (£15-20), or whatever you can spare, then I'd be just massively grateful.
On behalf of those effected by cancer and those working to help them, thank you in advance for your generosity. It may only be a little bike-ride but this money is needed, and this cause is important.
