i am disappointed to tell you that i have picked up a knee injury in the last week. i rested for a week and tried to go for another run but was unable to run even a mile.

the surgeon i went to see says it is something called iliotibial band syndrome - it is a tendonitits caused by the repetition of fully extending the knee whilst running - the last place i thought i would get a repetitive strain injury

i have been advised not to run

I know many of you have donated very generously to this cause and i am very annoyed with myself that i wont be able to complete this challenge that i have spent many months preparing for

i will personally refund anyone of you kind people who have made a donation to the Circulation Foundation if you forward me you name and address from the money i would have spent from my trips to Paris and London - therefore the charity will still benefit
