On 29th October 2018 it was with the heaviest of hearts, we shared the news our amazing gorgeous son Bilbo, had been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL).

Over the last year we've documented our journey through my blog

The last few months for me personally have been pretty tough, Bilbo is much better and is doing great but for me I feel like the last year is finally catching up on me.

Running this half marathon will be a personal challenge physically and mentally, I need this focus for ME and  running for The Henry Allen Trust makes it even more special.

Throughout the last year when some of the days have been dark and hard The Henry Allen Trust have been there for us throughout the journey. Dawn and the team have become part of our extended family. Our boys get so excited when they know they are hanging with their THAT family.

The Henry Allen Trust (like many cancer charities) is filling the void, the gaping hole left by underfunding from our government. What they do is provide a lifeline, whether that is emotional, financial or practical. We've seen first hand that these charities are a lifeline for families with cancer and without them it would be so much harder.

To fully understand the magic that is The Henry Allen Trust you need to understand what they do and how they spread happiness during dark times.

I've written a detailed blog about Dawn and the team if you'd like to read more:

To quote another cancer mummy "What Dawn and the team do is nothing short of amazing. Their energy and determination for things to be different touches people in their darkest moments. They are so much more that the things people see like fun days and wishes. They have transformed cancer care at local hospitals making the experience safer and better for everyone and they never stop striving to drive up standards further and educate people more.

How to bring to the life the phrase through adversity comes great strength. 💕"

Every mile I run will be in memory of Henry and every child who thanks to The Henry Allen Trust doesn't have to be alone.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and supporting my personal journey. I can speak from the heart in sharing that your pennies, your pounds will be going to a truly magical cause.
