The Sophie Clarke Foundation has been set up in honour of a very special sister, daughter and friend who sadly decided to take her life in October 2020. Sophie’s story is a powerful example of why we all need to check on our strong, busy and thriving friends.
Sophie was an all round talented woman - she was intelligent, athletic, funny, adventurous, artistic and a constant joy to be around, with hundreds of friends and family around the world who adored her and her company. She was successful and a high achiever with a passion for health and fitness, constantly active and trying new things. For more on Sophie’s story please visit our Instagram @thesophieclarkefoundation .
The Foundation has been set up to join the fight against suicide, raise awareness of mental health issues and support the amazing charities that have power to make a real difference, get people talking and trigger much needed change. We look forward to supporting a wide range of charities that celebrate all the things Sophie loved and help people like Sophie to heal and overcome their challenges.
Over the course of February we are completing the 270 challenge to mark the month Sophie would have turned 27. The goal is to get as many people as possible to cover the distance of 270km through whatever means they choose. This may be completed individually, or as a team. It can be ran, cycled, swam, walked, or a combination. To follow the progress of the challenge please visit the Instagram @sc27.270challenge .
This February challenge is in support of the charity Sea Sanctuary. Sophie was her happiest outside in the water and exploring nature and Sea Sanctuary provides all the therapeutic release and support that Sophie would have loved. They use a combination of sail training, marine activities and evidence-based therapies to help children and adults who are struggling with a whole range of varied mental and emotional health problems.
We are proud to be supporting their work in her name.
