Story
In May this year I found myself running at the Brathay Windermere Marathon. This is where I first became aware of a fantastic organisation called Brathay Trust who do absolutely incredible work to turn around the lives of some of the UK's most disadvantaged young people. I immediately drew parallels to my own experience of young adulthood and I knew this was a cause close to my heart and something I was desperate to support. Fortunately for me, Brathay have the perfect vehicle for this:
In May 2015 I will be embarking on the greatest endurance challenge of my life as I run the Brathay Windermere Marathon course on 10 consecutive days. That's 10 full distance marathons in 10 days which is 262 miles. That's the distance from my hometown of Kingston upon Hull right up to Edinburgh (gulp!).
I don't think I can even attempt to describe how daunted I am by the physical challenge but I will be working my butt off from now until May to put myself in the best possible shape at the start line on Day 1. This is going to take everything I've got, and then ask for more. I can't do this alone and I'll need a lot of support.
Please please please give up any money you can spare to support me and Brathay Trust. Every pound goes to the Trust and is spent directly on improving the lives of young people in the UK. These young adults are the future and need a guiding hand.
I am committed to an initial target of £3,000 so please give as much as you can. Check your sofas, coat pockets and car cubby holes for any loose change because seriously, every single donation counts.
When it's hurting and I want to quit I'll be looking at this page and drawing inspiration from your support so please leave me a message.
Thank you all with every ounce of my being.
