The team have decided to take on the challenge of joining the 2010 Cardiff Half Marathon to support their colleague Sally Hewitt.

In May 2009 Sally's partner,  Steve was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer.

Every year around 3700 people die of this disease in the UK and about 7000 are diagnosed. Kidney Cancer is the 8th most prevalent cancer and yet little is known about it and it is treated as a rarer cancer. We are seeking to change this by raising awareness and alerting people to the symptoms and encouraging them to see their doctors.

Steve had his kidney removed in June 2009, the cancer had already spread to his lungs before he was diagnosed. Steve has been undergoing a course of treatment called  HD IL2, which is an intense treament to say the least!

Sally feels very passionate about raising awareness of Kidney Cancer, it is a diseases which predominantly effects men and we all know what men are like about going to the doctors! Sally feels if they had knowd more about Kidney Cancer Steve would have gone sonner to the GP, which could have meant that the cancer wouldn't have spread.
