Many of you will know that Richard had been fighting cancer for the last couple of years. In December he was admitted into St. Catherine’s hospice in Crawley where he passed away on Sunday 4th January 2009.

Richard was an outstanding geophysicist.  He was also one of the nicest people to work with, always cheerful and happy to help others.  During the past two years Richard coped with his illness with a fortitude and good humour that was humbling to see.  He will be sorely missed.
