On the 16th of june 2011 five of us will be all getting on the saddle and riding the 130 mile Coast to Coast cycle route in just 1 day in aid of the excellent medical research that is being undertaken in the North East.

Newcastle University Medical Research teams work on finding new medicine, drugs and hopefully solutions in many areas including: ageing, stem cells, cancer, cell biology, genetics, drug development and neuroscience. Unfortunately areas of medicine and life that affect everyone.

The North East is one of the world leaders for the work in these areas but this research needs funding to ensure that it continues so that real advances in all of these areas can be made.
