UPDATE:
I did it! I finished the marathon in 5 hours 8 mins 34 secs. I'm really pleased with that time, and I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish - yes I really did!

Thanks to everyone who has sponsored me - I am so pleased to have raised such a lot of money for such a good cause. It's not to late to sponsor me if anyone is still thinking about it!

ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
A marathon is 26 miles and 385 yards. Until recently I thought that 385 yards was a long way to run, never mind the 26 miles. Nevertheless, I am going to run the London Marathon in April 2008 in support of RNLI Lifeboats. I have always admired this organisation and this has increased as I have learnt more about them.
RNLI lifeboat crews are unpaid volunteers and the lifeboats are all paid for by donations. Please help RNLI to save lives by sponsoring me in my marathon challenge. This is probably the hardest thing I've ever done, and I don't think I'll ever be doing it again. I'll never ask you to sponsor me again, so please dig deep this time!
Thank you very much for your support.
Robin
PS. I have been writing a blog about my marathon challenge since I started training in April. Click here to read more about what I've been doing.
