POST MARATHON UPDATE:

It was a scorching weekend in Edinburgh on the 11th June, but a fabulous day and a first experience I will
never forget. Free bananas and medal were claimed after 4hrs 12min followed by a pint of Guinness for
each leg and instant sleep. Some crazy Kenyan won the thing in 2hrs 15min, but I'll be after him next
time.... officially I came 1868th out of the full marathon runners. Walking on Monday near impossible
but I was in teaching at 8.15am anyway with a big smile.

Hello everyone I know - I am intending to run this year's Edinburgh Marathon (without the aid of my paraglider!) in order to raise as much as possible for Macmillan Cancer Support. Please dig deep and sponsor me online here.

Some of you will know my good friend Dmitrii who ran the London Marathon last year following a complete recovery from his own cancer scare, inspiring me both to run and to raise money. I am also grateful to Dr Elspeth Atkinson, who I know through St Michael and All Saints and who is currently Director of Macmillan across Scotland and Northern Ireland, for supporting my application to run for 'Team Macmillan' in 2006!

Training is going fairy well. On the 26th March I successfully completed the Edinburgh Forthside Half Marathon in a respectable 1hr 44min. I'm working on the other half...
