Story
Apologies if I have not thanked you personally but so many people have been so generous, even people that I do not know, that despite my best efforts I have not been able to contact everyone of my sponsors directly.
This was my first marathon in fact my first event greater than a half marathon and the day went very well for me.
I achieved my primary objective to complete the 26.22 miles. The official time of 3 hours 38 minutes and 18 seconds far exceeded my expectations.
I also managed to achieve my secondary object to better Gordon Ramsay (4hr 5min). I watched him later on TV putting this humbling experience down to the heat and something he ate.
For any one considering the London Marathon I could only offer encouragement the atmosphere and excitement generated by the crowds was amazing and the organisation like clock work.
Most importantly I am delighted to be able to say that between us we have raised in excess of £2500 (including gift aid, thanks Gordon, that’s Brown not Ramsay) for The Alzheimer’s Society.
So a big well done and thank you to you all.
