Imagine living in a rubbish dump, a skip, a sewage pipe or a ditch.  Imagine facing the daily threat of starvation, disease and violence.  This is the reality for many children living in the 21st century, a disgrace that is often ignored on the world stage with children as young as 6 years old living on the streets of major African cities without parents, shelter, food, support and often without hope.  The Retrak organisation exists to enable these street children to achieve their full potential and discover their worth.  Locally established projects in , and deliver food, medicine, education and use a sports and football programme to get to know these children in order to provide sustainable alternatives to life on the streets.   For more information visit www.retrak.org

FINAL UPDATE: I finished it!! Incredibly, I made it round the whole course in 2 hours 53 minutes, despite the problems I've had with my knee and the heat (for March) on the day. I have to admit, I was in a lot of pain by the time I got to the finish line but I got there and that's all that matters. Thank you all for supporting me - it really kept me going, thinking about how much money I was raising.
