Story
Mick and Tony are running the London Marathon and they are 'Running For Alice'
Mick's daughter, Alice Heaton is just like any other 11 year old girl except that she is currently fighting cancer. The day Alice started secondary school in September 08, she was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Since then, she has undergone 4 months of intensive chemotherapy treatment at Alder Hey Childrens Hospital with more yet to come. She has been an inspiration to us all through this worrying and difficult time of her short life. CLIC Sargent play a massive part in Alice's life during her treatment and so many other childrens lives who are affected by cancer. CLIC Sargent also offer fantastic support to families affected by cancer. This is our way of giving something back to the charity and we appreciate any help you can give us in raising money for this very worthy cause.
CLIC Sargent is the UK's leading children's cancer charity, providing the widest range of services and the highest number of care professionals to look after children and young people with cancer and their families.
All donations from this site will go directly to the charity.
Mick and Tony are running the London Marathon. With Mick at 17 stone and Tony at 15, the marathon for them could be quite slow, it certainly won't be pretty and this is your chance to show them your support without having to run alongside of them!!
So please dig deep, any donations big or small will be gratefully received.

We just want to say a big big thankyou to all who have donated, it has by far exceeded our expectations. We have recently been told that Alice doesn't need any more chemotherapy and will make a complete recovery. We are one of the lucky ones but we know that all the money raised we help all the other children and their families affected by cancer.
Mick and Tony have done all the hard training over the last few months and now with only 4 days to go to the Marathon we are all looking forward to seeing them cross the finish line!!! Especially Alice who will be cheering her Dad & Tony on lets hope they hear us!

Well they did it!!!! Tony finished in 4 hours 45 mins and Mick in 4 hours 48 mins, which was a fantastic achievement for them both, they came through without any injuries just tired legs and a few aches & pains. All the hard training paid off!! It was a fantastic atmosphere for runners and spectators. They both said never again after the race but watch this space....
Thank you again for donations and messages of support and good wishes.
