Story
The last event I ever got sponsored for was a sponsored silence!! So what's made me go from that to a Marathon.....well there is a long sob story behind this, but in a nutshell, my 5 yr old daughter has at the last count 8 life threatening allergies. We are lucky that as a family we manage to create a safe environment for her no matter where she goes and that we can educate those around her the importance of keeping allergy foods away from her. She is a solider and so resilient that she has taught me about strength of character. (that's her in the picture)
Its not just my daughter who this affects, my 2yr old nephew has a similar number of allergies, so when these two get together they have a right picnic! :) If I can do anything to make things easier for them as they grow up with these allergies I will, hence a fundraiser!
I can't take her allergies away from her nor will I be able to keep her safe all the time, but what I can do is run 26.2 miles (don't forget the .2) and raise some funds for The Anaphylaxis Campaign to raise awareness of the impact allergies can have and campaign for more NHS support for Allergies, so other children who suffer can get some support and navigate through what seems like an endless nightmare.
So give as little and much as you can, I will take anything. I am pretty sure I won't be able to walk after I have run the Marathon. So if you fancy being there with a mars bar/wine/new legs at the end, please feel free :)
