Story
Thankyou so much for coming to my page, for those of you who dont know me my name is Kirsty Geddes and I am 26 years old. Only 6 months ago I was going through respiratory failure, after a life long battle with Cystic Fibrosis. The only hope of survival was if I was to recieve a double lung transplant, and I was extremely fortunate that on November 11th 2009 due to the kindness and generosity of a family who donated a much loved ones organs I was given the chance of a new life.
I awoke from a double lung transplant and started my new chapter.
I now feel its my duty to raise as much funds and awareness for my two chosen charities. Those charities being the CF trust who fund research into finding a cure for CF whilst supporting those with CF. And the Live life give life charity that support donor families, those awaiting transplant and raising much needed awareness for the importance of organ donation.
I set up this page so that funds raised online will go to both charities.
I only got out of hospital a fornight ago following a bout of pneumonia but not for one minute would I not take part in this event. I will forever carry the greatest gift I could ever recieve and I wish to make this possible for others.
Thankyou so much for viewing my page and if you can spare a donation I am extremely grateful.
I am extremely positive that babies born today will not have to go through what I have, and more importantly that the CF trust will find a cure.
And for those awaiting transplant the live life then give life charity is helping to raise awareness and encourage more people to join the organ donation register.
