Running for my Mum

I ran my first marathon in 2009 which was only meant to be a one off experience.  Unfortunately my mum died in June 2009 of bowel cancer aged 64 after a long and courageous fight.  Towards the end of her illness she spent time in Havens Hospice which is a local based charity which supports patients and their families at what is a very difficult time.  The staff at the hospice were amazing and couldn’t have made my mums time in there any better.  So I decided to get my running shoes back on to run the marathon again this year to raise money for this hospice.  It will be nice to be able to give something back to them for all the care and support the hospice gave to not only my mum but to her relatives as well. 

 

Please dig deep as this is a really worthwhile cause.
