Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
On 25 April I will (hopefully) be running my first marathon in aid of the charity Dockland Settlements. As many of you know I had to pull out of the 2009 marathon due to injury so please keep your fingers crossed that my legs will behave this year.
Dockland Settlements has three community centres across the Docklands and provides needed community support for families, children, the elderly and many other groups. Whilst there are privileged pockets of professionals that live in the Docklands, many of the area's residents are not so fortunate. Dockland Settlements provides activities and support for these people.
The following video on Dockland Settlements' website really demonstrates the difference the charity makes: http://www.docklandsettlements.org.uk/video.php.
So please sponsor me to run this years London marathon. Your sponsorship will help put something back into the local community here in the Docklands, and will help make mile 18-26 (gulp - it sounds quite far when you write it out) more bearable through the pain!
Thanks
Sam
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Dockland Settlements gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
