From the 8th of October 2010, I will be travelling to Ghana with the Deutsche Bank London Charity of the Year, AfriKids.   Here I will learn about the culture of Ghana and help out in the local community.  Over a period of days I will immerse myself into the typical family lifestyles in rural Africa.  I will live their life, work their trades, and be a part of their community.  I will live with a family in their compound in the Northern regions of Ghana in the Bolgatanga Region.   I have volunteered to travel to these remote areas to assist on going microfinance projects improving the quality of life working with young deprived children, families, and local workers.    

I am raising money for the Charity AfriKids and I am sending you this in hopes that you will contribute to my fundraising target of £1000.

Working as a sustainable charity, AfriKids works with local people in north Ghana to try and turn life around for some of the world’s most vulnerable children. This partnership with Deutsche Bank will help them reach thousands more disadvantaged children who would otherwise be trapped in child labour or life on the streets. AfriKids represents a genuine step forward for children in an isolated area of Northern Ghana where.  The charity specifically targets the root causes of the children's problems, by improving community support services and by providing access to basic education and primary health care...

With the money raised below are some of the items which will be purchased ;

·         £7.50 is enough to provide a school uniform for a child, allowing them access to schooling

·         £41 is enough to provide notebooks, pens, and books for 18 former street children

·         £50 is enough to pay school fees for a former street child

However large or small the donation every little will make a difference.  A £1, Euro, $1 … may seen very little to many of us however they will be much appreciated and make a huge difference.
